Die beiden deutschen Künstler Sanne Drögemueller und Wolf-Dietrich d’ A1quen werden unter dem Titel "Zwischen Licht und Schatten"
eine Reihe ihrer Bilder in der Galerie "Maniatakeion Idryma" (nahe dem westlichen Hafen)
in Koroni ausstellen.
Von Acryl über Aquarell, Monoprints bis zu Collagen und größerformatigen Ölgemälden werden
unterschiedliche Motive und Maltechniken zu sehen sein.

The Opening Reception is Monday evening 20th July at 8.00pm.
There will be live music, food, drinks and speeches, plus of course, Mia's beautiful watercolours and artwork.
Her exhibition continues until 30th July and is open from 18.00 - 23.00 each evening.
It's in the lovely old house on the harbour in Koroni (near the children's playground at the castle end of the harbour on Moxlos plateia)

Rembetiko ist ein griechischer Musikfilm von Kostas Ferris 1983, dem es gelingt, das Wesen der Rembetiko Musik anhand der Geschichte der bekannten Rembetiko-Sängerin Marika Ninou begreiflich zu machen. Das kleinasiatische Smyrna, das heutige Izmir, bildete bis zum Griechisch-Türkischen Krieg (1919 bis 1922) und bis zu den Massakern in den Jahren 1919 und 1922 einen Schmelztiegel verschiedener Ethnien und Kulturen. Dort gab es eine Art „fahrende Sänger“, die von einer Taverne zur anderen zogen bzw. für eine gewisse Zeit ein Engagement annahmen und dann weiterzogen. Die Auftrittsorte waren eindeutig Männertreffpunkte und es herrschte in diesen Kneipen meistens ein rauer Umgangston. Nicht selten waren diese Tavernen auch ein Anziehungspunkt für gesellschaftliche Außenseiter, für Zuhälter und Kriminelle. Vor allem die Zuhälter prägten mit ihrem extravaganten äußeren Erscheinungsbild jenes Ambiente, in dem musiziert wurde. In diesem Umfeld wächst die kleine Marika auf. Sie erlebt einen ständig betrunkenen Vater, die Mutter hat aus Frust und Zweckmäßigkeit ein Verhältnis mit ihrem Chef, dem Kaffeehausbesitzer. Die Situation eskaliert, ihr Vater erschlägt vor den Augen der Kleinen die Mutter. Ihr weiteres Leben verläuft ebenso ereignisreich wie dramatisch.
Der Film zeigt eindrucksvolle Musikstücke und eine nahegehende Schilderung der schwierigen Lebensumstände der Heimkehrer.
1984 gewann der Film den Silbernen Bären der Internationalen Filmfestspiele von Berlin. Außerdem war er für den Goldenen Bären nominiert.
